Threshold is an imaginary line stretched on the edges of a neighborhood or a city. It’s a border that isn’t marked on any map. It is also the imaginary line signaling the passage from the private to the public zone, and the blurring of that division. It is the place which is neither the interior nor the exterior of the house. Threshold is also the thin line between sanity and insanity. The blurring of that imaginary line underscores the fluidity of the boundaries between reality and fantasy. I aspired to extract the ambience and the situation from the mundane and to turn it into ‘something’.
The thematic links between the pictures are intuitive. Seemingly, there is no link between one image and another, but collectively, the images offer a point of view. This is not a grouping of images and situations, but an extraction of the imagined border-line and its preservation.
